Dick Robinson celebrates Simon C. Fireman in Hyannisport, Massaschusetts…

Thankfully, the inferno on top of Simon Sea Fireman’s birthday cake was extinguished just as Dick blew into town or they might have had to call a fireman to douse the candle flames.

Dick and Sally made their annual sojourn to Hyannisport in July along with life-long friends, Nick and Annette Agnos and daughter, Tina, to whip up Simon’s July birthday cake with the lovely and loving Norma, Lovey (arf), Sugar (ruff), Dolly (bow wow), Coco (bark) and Cutey (howl).

As usual, it was a fantastic Fireman blowout, and all the tales were wagging.

Next port o’ call:  Baden-Baden, Germany

Dick Robinson celebrates Herme'
de Wyman Miro upon return from her European unwind…

Though Dick was not in Europe for the international celebration of Herme' de Wyman Miro’s birthday, he wanted to make sure her return included a sumptuous piece of German chocolate cake at the beautiful Colony Hotel in September.

Claims Dick Robinson, “Herme' is filled with such love, devotion, kindness and superior business acumen that her flame, as on the candle, will never be extinguished.  Herme' is a class act and a world-renowned giver extraordinaire.”

Vilkommen, Herme', to another new year of selfless acts.  The International Society of Palm Beach is fortunate to have you as its Grand Dame.

Next stop:  Boca Raton, Florida

Dick and Sally Robinson celebrate Henrietta, The Countess de Hoernle at Boca West Country Club…

Dick Robinson cannot even countess the ways The Countess de Hoernle is so divine.  September 24th 2007 marked the date that over 500 guests gathered to honor The Countess while Master of Ceremonies Dick Robinson gently delivered The Countess from one special presentation to the next at her emotion-filled 95th birthday gala at Boca West Country Club.

This recognition does not mean The Countess’ work is done by any stretch.  The Countess de Hoernle, who, Dick says, “exudes the true meaning of a charitable life,” will next receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Philanthropy Day luncheon, November 15th, at the Kravis Center.

Henrietta will be Dick’s date at The Hanley Center table when she receives the award.  Dick and Sally Robinson received the AFP (Association of Fund Raising Professionals) Outstanding Volunteer Fund Raisers of the Year Award at that luncheon in 2004.

Airwaves docks at:  the Boston Waterboat Marina, Massachusetts

Dick Robinson celebrates Connie Francis at The Majestic Theatre, Boston…

To quote Dick Robinson, “Connie Francis' show at the Majestic Theatre in Boston was nothing short of spectacular!  Connie tore the place apart (singing in four languages) and looked simply amazing.”

Connie Francis has never left Dick’s life since they first met in 1958 when DJ Dick Robinson broke the 45 rpm, “Who’s Sorry Now,” at a radio station in New England.  They have remained close over the years, and Dick continues to promote Connie Francis today on "Dick Robinson's American Standards by the Sea," heard on WXEL 90.7 FM (NPR), Sundays, 3 to 5 PM, and on WXEL TV, Saturdays at 6:30.

“Connie is just as vivacious and talented today, and she sings just as remarkably as she did 50 years ago.  Being in her presence is almost as if time stood still.  You still wish you had Connie’s ‘Lipstick on Your Collar.’”

Finally, the MY Airwaves returns to home port:

The Palm Beaches
Dick Robinson celebrates Leo Albert at The Beach Club, Palm Beach…

At an intimate gathering of close friends and family at The Beach Club in early October, Dick Robinson was proud to be among the guests at Leo Albert’s birthday dinner hosted by Lois Pope.

On this particular occasion, Leo Albert may have been the recipient of a gift or two but truth be told, there is no more generous gift giver than Leo Albert who has donated $2 million to Lois Pope’s dream to build a memorial in Washington, DC, dedicated to American Veterans Disabled for Life.

Those who know Leo Albert, a former Marine and past chairman of Prentice Hall, are humbled by his kindness, humility and friendship.  Leo Albert truly is a gift to humanity.
